Brigitte Harrisson and Lise St-Charles, Concept Consulted, 2009, 35p.

TEDOU is a fictional character created specifically for children with Autism*. His books and stories are filled with illustrations and descriptions that autistic children can relate to. Anyone whose life is affected by autism will enjoy discovering Tedou’s world. The TEDOU Collection is based on the key development stages of autism and the specific needs of autistic children (SACCADE™). The collection explores themes important in children’s daily lives and each book can be used as a learning tool. They are written according to the principles of Conceptual Language – a communication technique created by Brigitte Harrisson and Lise St-Charles to help autistic and non-autistic individuals understand each other better.

The first title in the series, TEDOU is Autistic and discovers the world!, explains autism to autistic children by using conceptual language illustrations (SACCADE™). The book was originally designed for autistic children* (7 to 11 year-olds or older children with delayed development) but also provides an opportunity for people who have or know an autistic child to learn and talk about autism. *and all children with PDD (Autism, Asperger Syndrome and PDD Not Otherwise Specified)
